GRAMMAR CHECK GRAMMAR CHECK

Past Simple: negatives and questions lmperative verbs
In Past Simple questions, most verbs take did + subject + infinitive without to. We use imperatives to give instructions or order someone to do something.
Oid the king arrive? What did the Ghost say? We make the affirmative imperative with the infinitive without to.
The verb be is different. With be we put the subject after the verb to make past questions. Go now, Horatio!
Was he a man - or was he a ghost? We make the negative imperative with don't + the infinitive without to.
In Past Simple negatives, most verbs take did not (or didn't) + infinitive without to. Don't do that, Hamlet!
The king did not arrive. Hamlet didn't /ove me, thought Ophelia. We also use imperatives to give an invitation or an offer. We often put 'please' before an
